The importance of so-called ‘personality rights’ has been increasing in recent years.
Personality rights mean the rights to your own name, image, voice, story, integrity etc. Personality rights apply in circumstances in which your name or image is used without permission in advertising, on social media etc.
Danish law does not offer specific legislation that provides for the protection of personality rights. Protection is mainly based on the legal principles derived from case law.
Ples&Lindholm advises on all aspects of personality rights, e.g. if you believe that your rights have been violated or if you need to enter into an agreement on the use of such rights in a sponsorship agreement, advertising, brand ambassador agreement etc.
